April 27, 2013 at 7:02 am #50772cameraflageParticipantA back alley implies an urban setting…does laneway imply a rural setting?
April 15, 2013 at 3:01 am #50734cameraflageParticipantCongrats to Ranger Joe this week! Loved your pic, and was wondering how you managed to pop flash the sign through the window? Every time I try it just bounces off the glass, so obviously I’m not doing it right 😆
Woo hoo!
Elsinore, the flash was off camera, held up against the windshield. I ran into that problem, too…and had a nice conversation with an Ohio State Trooper trying to work it out (the officer was ahead of me on the interstate, saw my flashes going off and thought I was in need of assistance…he was amused.)

Thanks, all.

September 28, 2012 at 5:27 am #48603cameraflageParticipantThis is an awesome contest, gang.
July 26, 2012 at 8:09 pm #47759cameraflageParticipantI’m out this week…the awesome shot I had of an old Jeep, glinting in the sun with large sandstone red rock formations in the background and a pair of unicorns frolicking in the foreground, absolutely refused to upload without causing my computer to lock up. I gave up at 2am.
June 28, 2012 at 3:56 am #47478cameraflageParticipantStupendously awesome shots this week, gang.
Ravnostic…8:15, right on cue.
June 22, 2012 at 6:04 am #47424cameraflageParticipantKestrana….your Shenandoah shot….North District, near Mt. Marshall, or Central District, just south of Mary’s Rock tunnel?
It’s looking almost due east from the eastern flank somewhere north of Thornton Gap. Very close to where the historical marker talks about the squatters who lived in the park during the Prohibition era and Chimney trail that takes you through their ruins (which I have yet to walk).
Look for some of the old cemeteries down there, too. There are some along Keyser Run and Little Devils Stairs, if I recall.

Works for me.
June 3, 2012 at 6:21 am #47166cameraflageParticipantDo scale-models count?
Sure thing. Except you can’t put gorillas or dinosaurs on them.
/just kidding. you can. I just wanted to get Ranger Joe’s attention.
Well, crap, now I gotta use space shuttles and Jeeps again.
April 30, 2012 at 10:20 pm #46165cameraflageParticipantI suppose you could argue that a leaf is made of the same material as wood, so in a way I suppose so, though I don’t think the voters would be on the same boat.
If the leaf weighs the same as a duck…?
April 16, 2012 at 1:57 pm #45920cameraflageParticipantAs an aside, Ranger Joe/Cameraflage’s winning entry was highlighted on the fark.com FB page:
https://www.facebook.com/farkdotcomI did make a comment that it was Ranger Joe’s, because I noticed they didn’t put that in the description. I kinda wanted to tag Ranger Joe/Cameraflage’s actual FB account, but didn’t want to reveal his actual name if that wasn’t desired. So feel free to tag yourself if you’d like!
Thanks! And no problem with the FB post…the government already knows where I am, as do the aliens. I only hope that I can finish my experiments before either of them can stop me.
April 13, 2012 at 3:20 pm #45962cameraflageParticipantIt’s too bad they don’t allow pictures inside the U-boat, they would have been spectacular.
I’m assuming the museum sells photos of the interior…why wouldnt they let people take photos inside a captured German submarine from WW2?
