ParticipantI think I’m just going to go with two tonight myself. There are two incentives for overtime from yesterday until Friday going on (one at $10/hour extra for four or more hours, and one for an extra $3/hour for each hour over my normally scheduled hours. I have two that are I think pretty good, but my other ideas I just don’t think will come out well and I really want to get in on that incentive pay, so I’m not going to spend the time on the shots and will just go straight to work. Hopefully I won’t get too distracted before posting in the contest. 🙂

ParticipantRemembered this one, and I’ll likely enter it, but I’m willing to be out classed: There’s a star in my apple. I’ll be surprised if I’m the only one who knows that.

ParticipantMight be pushing it, but star drivers (it’s a tool) okay? They’re kind of star shaped, but not the typical 5-point star.

ParticipantWill take comments/critiques about my photos this week (as every week). Hubby helped the selection process, except Frosted as that was slated for this when I took it, but he liked the picture.

ParticipantDo star-shaped things count as fake stars? Seems like a silly question, but there it is.

ParticipantWell, for anyone who’s interested, my entries and my B’s are on my blog: http://clouddancer19.blogspot.com
I would like some feedback, if you want, about how well I chose (or didn’t).

ParticipantIsn’t one of the points of a travel brochure to introduce people to places they might not otherwise know about? Hence, I would think that lesser known places/people wouldn’t be too far out of the way. It could be a way of pointing out the incidentals, little other things that make a trip to see the one major thing a bit more worthwhile.
Sorry if I make no sense. Today and yesterday Mr. Chancellor has decided to be the grumpiest person on the planet so I’m not only a bit frustrated with him, I keep getting woken up at times I’d rather not, and this is one of those times so I”m not entirely awake. Guess it’s time to make coffee….

ParticipantShould I have posted this instead? I really thought about it, but then figured that late a Christmas photo wouldn’t do all that well.

All the cute in the thread has made my head asplode. Can’t wait to vote, but will have to be later. Today wasn’t a most fantastic day and I started work late.

ParticipantThis is one of the ones I took today. Most are pretty much the same type, just variations of the kaleidoscope pattern. Thoughts? Will this work for the contest?

ParticipantI have Googled to find what I can, but I think I’m a bit dense to understand it how they’re doing it and what the results are. I’ll ask Husband when he gets home. Many times he can explain things to me like this, and he might have a couple of ideas of his own to throw in.

ParticipantSimple question, but not so simple answer, I fear. How does one go about making a kaleidoscope filter for the camera, or otherwise make a kaleidoscope with a viewing area big enough to be photographed? Son got a kaleidoscope for Christmas and I stuck it up to my camera and got some ok shots, but I’m relatively sure it can be better. Suggestions? Or is this type of thing considered against the rules?

ParticipantIt might have worked better if I would have stayed in the same spot and not panned the camera as I ended up doing. I think that was my fallacy. If I panorama them, I end up with one of the 4 that doesn’t show up, and I’d like that one in there. I’ll try to put some shots together by varying simply the opacity and see what I get. I’d like the subjects to not be blurred or ghosted though. That may be more than I’ll be able to do, but I can try nonetheless. If not, I will find other photos to go all hootenany on.

ParticipantSo if I want to combine shots, I have to use them in their entirety (pretty much)?
Idea: Last week, Atrus had a BLAST being tossed into the snow. The person throwing him (not Daddy as Daddy was at school) got him to have good height and great landing, long distance, etc. Am I allowed to combine them in such a way that one could see the Atrus toss from start to finish, but not reduced opacity of the people like up there? The shots I got will “work” but if I can do this, I’d like to get them again so I have better ones to work with. I don’t think I uploaded the ones I have to anywhere, but I can for reference.
This seems like a silly question now that I read it over, but if I had the proper shots in the first place it wouldn’t be an issue, me thinks. There are a couple of weeks to get this done anyway, so I’ll see what I can cook up.

ParticipantThe first one made me laugh, but the second one may be more vote whoringish.
The first one made me laugh pretty good when I was taking them off camera. I”ll keep the second one in mind to use then unless I come up with better ones somewhere (or others chime in and change my mind).

ParticipantAre either of these vote whore-y enough?

Or do I have to try harder?
