“Sepia (or adding a similar monochrome tone to an image)” is right there in the allowed section of the rules.

    looks like sepia to me.

looks like we’re going to have an old or damaged stairs shootout 🙂

well unless they are steps in which case (according to millera9) they may be deleted as off theme. 🙂

swampa i’d go with one. while the gnome is more prominent so is the escalator. with two you’re left wondering what the picture is. and that ceiling in the middle of two doesn’t help. but that’s me YMMV.

it’s cool. whoever is posting the boobies needs to make sure that their post matches this.

well i shot my stairs today. and they are literally stairs, not some interpretation of waaaaaasup. and they are beautiful. technically brilliant and artsy as all hell. the voters will hate them.

but seriously i have 4 different stairs/steps and about 70 exposures to now cull through. but it was a great day, mild weather and i found pretty much what i’d set out to see.

i also have over a hundred seagulls in flight, some of which really are pretty good. continuous advance is a great feature. all told i shot 226 exposures total today.

Take the mundane and make it artistic.

that’s the theme for my life. or my life’s goal. take your pick.

i’m wondering if one uses macro for the artistic part if we might want to link to the mundane “o” for comparison. and if so how many will bother to look at the link 🙂

let me say it once more. shot some chrome once you have a feel for the camera. it’s a hoot.

i have a fairly nice rolli (acquired used) that has a built in meter and the last time i used it it worked fine. got the pretty leather built on case and all. it’s the shits.

before that i used a “tower” TLR which is turns out was sold as a sears brand many years ago. also acquired used. it light leaked something fierce until a camera repair guy in a little shop in austin replaced a tiny missing screw. from there on it was fine. no meter but i have two hand helds for my 4 x 5 so that wasn’t a problem. see them here http://www.davesweblife.com/images/old%20stuff%20002.jpg

now you want to talk old meters check this out http://www.davesweblife.com/images/old%20stuff%20017.jpg that sucker works too. note that depending on the light levels you have several option with the hood. also note it reads the light in “foot candles”. how many of yours can do that?

you want to have fun shot some chrome with it. few things more fun than handing your friends a 2 1/4 square slide to see.

a 4 x 5 is even more fun. folks freak.

keep in mind that your composition will be different and it takes a bit to get used to. but that’s part of the fun.

developing the film is the easy part. it’s printing — no it’s having the room to leave the printing stuff set up that’s a problem. my sister has a darkroom built into her garage. yeah i envy her.

no, but if i did that would be 33 to 50% of my latest totals.

i have a fan who votes for all my stuff regardless. seems to take away from the fun somewhat. i liked whatever it is enough to enter it and only want those who it strikes hard enough to vote.

i’m looking for the connoisseurs, not the unwashed masses 🙂

i’m seen demos of this other places and, well you know me. the demos made it seem like more of an area rather than the whole image treatment. that could be because it’s used to enhance an area.

but on the plus side it does seem to (loosely) fit in the color balance category.

    I’m ending a sentence with a preposition.

thought the AP style book says that’s ok now.

have no idea really but read it on fark so it must be true.
