ParticipantSo are odds good this will be an east coast wedding? If you do a Las Vegas wedding I can get there rather easy but if its going to be on the east side of things I am not nearly as sure. It would be great to get to meet a bunch of you Farktographers so if Its going to be where I can get to it on the cheap I will say yes. But being currently unemployed I am not sure I will have the funds for a trip much further than Vegas. Congrats either way.

ParticipantI must be kinda dense this week. So you mean I have to upload a 640 by 480 version for the contest? I realize I have the unlimited option now but I wish I didn’t have to do that. I kinda like for people to see the large size and at the same time was trying to not have duplicates of half my pictures.

ParticipantThat’s an awesome shot!

Participantok I wont keep bitchin on Fark but why can I not get it to a down loadable size. the actual large size is half the size it started and I lost maybe 10 kb on the postable sizes. Until a few weeks ago I was on the cheap at Flickr and didn’t have the option of uploading 2 files for every entry. I guess I am gonna have to start double uploading to flickr so this doesn’t drive me to put a fist through something like I wanted to tonight.
Edited to finish my rant.lokisbong
Participantthe Bad Astronomy site had a very short video of this yesterday or the day before. pretty cool picture.

ParticipantI wanted people in dry, ‘shroom-free climates to be able to play along. Also, I wanted more variety than just a bunch of mushroom upskirts. So I inluded, as Ravnostic put it, teeny-tiny plant life, but kept my intial title idea. Then I used my best fungus pic in filthy right before this hit critical mass.
Boy am I glad you did. I just moved to Nevada and have not seen anything like a real mushroom other than the shitty lookin stuff at the store. There are lots of lichens though.

ParticipantMy picture was found on Flickr and yes she asked me for permission before using it.

ParticipantVery cool for both of you. I actually know what you mean. I have a picture that is on a travel website for northern California.

ParticipantSo the mushroom you are talkin about sounds like an (Amanita muscaria) Very poisonous but very pretty mushrooms. I once saw one that was probably a foot across but alas I had no camera with me back then.

ParticipantLast 4th of July I wandered away from my tripod for one minute and came back to find the wind had knocked a lawn chair into the tripod and knocked the whole thing into the sand lens first. so now my 18/55 kit lens doesn’t like to auto focus any more and the zoom feature gets a bit sticky sometimes. I think there might still be a piece of sand in there somewhere. Sorry for your luck!
