ParticipantSorry to hear about your dad. Sending wishes for a full recovery his way. Remember to take care of yourself too. Eat and rest properly. You won’t be any help if you run yourself into the ground!

Right up the street from me. Great people who know their shit. I wouldn’t trust my gear with anybody else. (Unless it was still under warranty)

ParticipantVery nice! Looks like it was a lot of fun. Your subjects had very interesting faces. I would have busted out the long lens and taken some tighter shots.

ParticipantI’m surprised at how well my Fairlane shot is doing seeing how it was just a snapshot. I was doing a band shoot in the Great Rhode Island Desert ( http://www.film.ri.gov/galleryRIDesert.html ) when one of the guys suggested we go to the “secret mustang junkyard” nearby to shoot. ( http://jalopnik.com/5102534/massive-secret-mustang-junkyard-found-in-rhode-island-forest ).
Well he didn’t know where he was going and we ended up at the wrong place. The yard we were at had a 6ft razor wire topped fence that we couldn’t get into and it was starting to rain. So I held my camera over the fence and took that shot. I wasn’t going to use it but it does have a kind of desolate feeling to it.nobigdeal
ParticipantThat Canon 100mm is a beast of a lens!

ParticipantIf it’s Canon, rent the Tokina 11-16 f2.8 It’s really well worth it for those wide-angle shots. I’ll try and dig up some shots from my Death Valley trip last fall later tonight.
The Tokina 11-16 is available in the superior brand also. I had one. Nice lens but I sold it in favor of the 10mm fisheye.
