ParticipantI’m wondering if there’s enough bokeh in this:

or this

to qualify….
SilverStag
ParticipantI just thought I’d get that out of the way up front 🙂

Participant*Absolutely* no sky, of is it OK if the sky isn’t dominant in the photo?
SilverStag
ParticipantAre you guys still going to try and align this with the PS and Caturday peeps?

ParticipantOK, I misunderstood and don’t have time to reshoot any of my planned entries, so I can’t do any of the “set them up like a museum display” parts of this exercise. If I’m going to enter at all, it’s going to have to be shots from the field.
That sucks 🙁
I’m afraid this is going to be a bit of a headache tonight, since basically things that aren’t “set up in a museum-like way” won’t really qualify, but I’d be willing to bet we’re going to get a lot of that stuff….
This contest really didn’t get me motivated at all- no fault of anyone but my own, I suppose, but I just thought that things found in situ would be more interesting.
I guess I felt, after thinking about it, that setting things up as museum displays was gilding a lily.
I’ll probably see a cool entry or two when I come by to vote, and go “you idiot, why didn’t you think of that?“. C’est la vie.

ParticipantI have my own hosting on 1and1, it’s been reliable for me.

ParticipantU-man, that boat wake pic is beautiful!

ParticipantI had just the right stuff, for once.

ParticipantI had nothin’ this week, but I went in and voted…. soosh, the sunrise reflected in the windows is amazing, good job. I liked chanchanman‘s ‘beer goggles’, and the color in Pwaully‘s reflected space needle was beautiful. I thought RcMacStudent‘s double reflection (where is that?) was clever and showed creativity, and Flavivirus‘ shot of the tower with the water lilies(?) caught my eye. idle_hands and U-Man both got votes for creative use of ripples in the water.
I thought that it might be useful feedback if I took the time to explain why I voted for certain pix, at least where it’s clear in my mind why I liked the shots. (I voted for others, but without necessarily clearly defined reasons.)
Good job, you guys!

ParticipantWhat about light reflecting on something and making a projection, or is that something else?
This is what I am thinking of using, but I don’t quite know if that qualifies as a reflection…Wow that looks *just like* a glyph of a guy on a bicycle! 😯

ParticipantSweetie, I’m so sorry for your loss. Please know that we are thinking of you and Zeke and will be in our thoughts.

ParticipantI hope schnee turned off the Scarlet Letter tonight in the FSM 🙂

ParticipantThis week looks like a great contest, it’s too bad I’ve had no time to go shoot for fun this week- paying gigs & prom pictures pay the bills & must come first. You guys have a great time 🙂
SilverStag
Participantquesy? oh that could be interesting….
Why is it the longer I look at the pictures I was planning on using the less awesome I think they are ?
That happens to me all the time. I’ve decided to just not enter some weeks, after reflection on my putative entries.
