The Sportsman Club here in town is having a display tommorrow night. I can sit in my backyard and see the ones that go over the tree line. I’m going to try and get some shots then.

Here is one I took at my brother in laws a few years ago.

I have it narrowed down to 6 (so far), all taken in the last 2 days. My wife is trying to talk me into calling in sick tonight, so I might get some more tonight. We have a lot of bugs.

The way I do it is hightlight the link in the relpy box and then hit the URL button above the box.

Digital photography doesn’t have a very big dynamic range. If you take a photo with bright areas and dark areas in the same frame, the exposure will be set for one or the other. The bright area will look ok, but the dark areas will be too dark, or the dark will come out ok, but the bright areas will be washed out. With HDR, many shots are taken with different exposures of the same subject. Using a photo processing program, the photos are combined. It is probably explained better here:

I got a Minolta SLR in the late seventies. It died in the 90’s. Went to digital in the late 90’s with a Kodak DC200. It was called a megapixel because it is slightly over 1 Meg (and it cost $400). I got my Canon a little over 2 years ago.

I have been looking at quotes about hope, and I have some now. Maybe someone can use this one:

    Alexander Pope:
Hope springs eternal in the human breast.

I don’t have anything for tonight. Well, I guess I have one that is kinda stretching the theme a bit.

But then,, I do have a buttload of bird photos.

I am going with my top 3 vote getters from last year. With The Farktography Statistics Manager, it was quick and easy to find the entries. The bad thing is I have to work tonight, so I won’t enter until 11:00 or so. Stupid job.

After taking hundreds of shots of my two dogs, I have found the secret of good pet photos is to find someone with a Golden Retriever puppy.

And I call this one 4:20

When I first saw this contest, I thought of photos I have taken of my wife interacting with the dogs. She is in a happy mood in the pixs. But then I looked up Moody. Answers.com shows:

Given to frequent changes of mood; temperamental.
Subject to periods of depression; sulky.
Expressive of a mood, especially a sullen or gloomy mood: a moody silence.

    For mood it shows:

A state of mind or emotion.
A pervading impression of an observer: the somber mood of the painting.
An incidence of sulking or angry behavior.
    Inclination; disposition.

This might be harder than I thought.
