ParticipantI have #1 and #2 selected. #3 is a tough choice. What I like and what I’ll probably use is a twist of #1. But I have three other very different pics that just want to be chosen. Of those, one has pesky power lines in it and one says “Statue” rather than “Grave”. (Even though it is a statue on a grave). The other one…just…might…get …chosen…

ParticipantJudging by the Flickr previews I can see, it looks like the competition will be stiff this week.
/I’m here all week, try the veal.
Dude, you’re killing me.

ParticipantBecause of the fact that the people buried can’t give permission to have their photographs taken, I must outright condemn this theme as a whole. Shame upon all who participate in such atrociti–aw, whatever. I’ve got nothing this week, and the only graveyard nearby is the size of a driveway. Looks like I’ll be out another week.
I just got back from a small farmland cemetery. 20ish headstones. Is there anything cool in the small one by you?

ParticipantI have been in a foul mood for about a week. It is nearly all work and stress induced. I got a full 8 hours of sleep last night, hoping that would help my mood. All it did was make me a more effective asshole. But, I actually chuckled out loud to rav’s bad puns and eunni’s AC/DC reference.
I have ideas for this one. I just don’t have the time/mindset to make them happen. Maybe tonight. If all else fails, I’m sure I have 100 round things in my files. But I’ve been doing too much archive diving recently and need to get OUT.

ParticipantLike a box full of “A perfect circle” CDs?
Don’t be a TOOL.
Well played, Sir. Well played. At high volume on my drive home today, even.
I knew you would get it.
And I’m sorry if I sounded terse with my 2 cents about the butt shot. I just re-read my comment. I’m not at all the final word and it’s OK if the theme gets that loose. I was really just chiming in.

ParticipantIs that roundish enough not to be a moon? 😯
You bastid. 😡 Thinking outside the box (but within it’s view–that’s a mare, no?), then that looks like a moon, but is, in fact, not a moon. Well played. 8)
So, then, who’d like to compete for 2nd place? 🙄
//edit, removed pic repost.
I’m usually the guy saying, “sure, that’s fine” with these questions. But that’s not round enough for me.

ParticipantHeh. I’m going through the files for a local contest and came across this one. Some Fark infrastructure. Too late.

ParticipantSo, now that I’ve listed my reasons behind it, let me open it up for discussion – how does everyone feel about it? It’s all of y’all’s site, too, so if there’s a general consensus against it, I’ll remove the limit.
I haven’t looked closely at everything involved; mainly because I don’t have strong opinions about it. I like what I see, though.

ParticipantFor real this time. Do you think that something circular, like a coin, would work if you shot it from the side, thereby making it oval?
U-Man
ParticipantSo. Can I use this great picture of the moon that I have?
/sorry. had to get that out of the way.

ParticipantFarking voters, how do they work?
So yeah, that photo in the lead? I figured that would do the least well of all of them and it almost didn’t get used. It’s also, IIRC, a semi-blatant rip-off of a photo that U-Man posted maybe a year or two back. :/
That was from waaaaay back for the ‘Pinhole camera’ theme.
http://photos.imageevent.com/ulle17/fark/Pinhole-Tower_5016.jpgAnd it’s not really a rip-off. I mean there’s only so much you can do with those towers. 🙂 How did you get the softness in your pic?

ParticipantKes gotta shout-out to U-Man, that draining water picture is just chock full of refractive goodness!
Thanks ZE. It was taken with a waterproof P&S.
And in regards to the other part of your comment, I am frequently pleased with the creativity expressed during themes that could be interpreted in a narrow manner.

ParticipantMining operations are a necessary part of our global infrastructure, so yes they would be fair game.
As I said before, hard and soft infrastructure is fine. You can shoot telephone poles, highways, columns, beams, airports, trains, sewers, garbage trucks, the Post Office, a bank, a dollar, a Police Officer…
Power plants, where airplanes fly
O’oer power lines across the sky
A dump truck dumping precious ore
The joists that hold up your house floor
A nickel, penney, piece ‘o eight
A subway running very late
The asphalt underneath your feet
The farms where we get all our meat
The prison system breaking rocks
I’m sure you’ll think out of the boxI don’t think you should shoot a Police Officer.

ParticipantAll are kosher.
Cool.
