ParticipantAny clue how long Fark will be “white”?
I know which pics I want to use, but I have utterly failed to get them ready (resizing, hosting). While I probably will still have them done by 8, more time would be cool. (Then I could get Stoned and Strange ready at the same time)
Disregard the above. I missed the “Continue to Fark” link…

ParticipantOne should never route for Baltimore.
I’m sorry Mr. Steelers Fan, but if it’s a choice between Baltimore and either the Giants or 49ers, I’m rooting for the Baltimorons every single time. As a Cowboys fan, it’s nearly genetic to hate both those other teams. Hate with the heat of a thousand suns…

ParticipantAt least Denver is finally out of it 😆
I counted on Tebow not being able to do it again. Choosing New England’s defense was nearly as easy as choosing Pittsburgh… almost went with Green Bay, though…
If Tebow were a better QB, I’d be more willing to cheer for him. And this isn’t like the “criticism” of Chris Carter (“All he does is catch touchdowns”). Because it’s not like “All he does is win games,” because that’s not all he does… he spends most of the game stinking up the joint, and the last 5 minutes pulling it out of his butt… and not even as often as he should…
Boy needs practice… as does most of his team.

EDIT – As I type, there’s less than 5 minutes left in the packers/Giants and Driver’s just scored to push it to 20-30 Giants.
If next week’s NFC game is NY/SF, I already know I’ll be cheering for whoever wins the NE/Baltimore game in the Super Bowl.
I’m wondering if anyone else noticed a significant increase in fumbles this weekend? There’s been more in 4 games than I can remember seeing in any weekend, including Sunday and Monday night games. It’s like they lubed the balls just for these games (doesn’t help most of those miscues harmed teas I was cheering for).

ParticipantNot only am I just generically irritated that the 49ers won, now I gotta pick 3 major new players and I lose all the multipliers… while my likelihood of winning was tiny, it’s even more remote now.
I did so much yelling at my TV in the last 4 minutes of that game…
God I hate the 49ers…
Bleah.

ParticipantI got nuthin. I’m out.
Me too…
The only pix I got are pigs from the State Fair, and those are very pedestrian.

ParticipantPatents are one area where Kodak has a significant reserve. They haven’t (AFAIK) done the patent-troll thing, (and they were on the losing end in relation to Polaroid over instant photo technology years ago).
There was talk a year or two ago that they might try to raise cash by selling them. Until they do that, they’re still optimistic. When Kodak sells their supply of patents, dump the stock immediately, it’s end-game time. That they have defensible patents is a good thing, and they shouldn’t have been infringed upon.
Given who they’re suing, maybe they should get into the camera-phone game? Over a century of lens technology might produce a camera phone worth the effort (and Bausch & Lomb’s less than 5 miles away, so they could even collaborate).

ParticipantFWIW local news is reporting that Kodak’s opting for non-bankruptcy re-structuring to separate some of the better performing units from the underperforming (camera) ones.
Still sad, but at least it’s not bankruptcy (so far). Stock’s up 50% as well (all the way up to $0.60)

ParticipantFor one thing, in the first and third photos you present as examples the women are wearing eye make-up.
In the second image, there is some post-processing to wash out the face and have the eyes pop.Have you tried putting eye-liner on your niece?
(Also, you have a full body shot of your niece… close-up on her face, minimizing the balloons and see how much more here eyes pop now that they’re the most colorful thing in the image.)
But that’s just my observation based on the images you’ve presented. I haven’t done a careful study of portraits, but I don’t think eyes are everything. If you want an image that grabs, make sure the eyes are attention-getting (Olivia Wilde, anyone?), they’re looking straight at the camera, and extraneous stuff is at a minimum. There’ve been plenty of good images with closed eyes, or less than “grabby” eyes… they just require that other elements fall into place (or are carefully arranged).

ParticipantI’m gonna chase it to the end, fully expecting to fall somewhere in the bottom half-million. At least I have a rooting interest in some of the games. I mean… usually, in a Giants-49ers game, I’m just rooting for non-career ending injuries (groin pulls, sprains…). Now, I’m going to replace Turner with Gore and I’ll at least have one person on that field I won’t be rooting to fail.

ParticipantSon. Of. A. Bitch!
Who knew Tebow was good for 29 points?
Against the Steelers?
I gotta go back to church… Tebow’s making me a believer again…

ParticipantCrap… who’d have thought that Victor Cruz and Micheal Turner between them would be worth 6 whole points. Bleah.
Had a great day yesterday (taking Drew Brees, Jimmy Graham and Marques Colston helped a lot, along with Arian Foster’s 29 points).
Today… not so much. Here’s hoping the Steelers’ Defense plays at least as good as the Giants or Houston…

Participantennui… If you can land a job upstate (somewhere between Syracuse and Buffalo) I will personally drive my wife’s truck to NYC to pick you and your stuff up to move you. Just think… 6+ hours of stopping every 20 minutes for photography and a wide variety of hair metal while we’re in the truck…

ParticipantI haz a sad.
I know I’m 600 miles away, but if there’s ANYTHING I can do, let me know.
I know you were pursuing money-making with the cameras… no luck?
Good luck. . .

ParticipantKodak’s one of the big 3 here (Kodak, Xerox, Bausch & Lomb). When I was a kid, freakin’ everybody worked at one of them, or in support of them.
Kodak’s been in decline for a very very long time, and it’s been sad to watch.
The “bankruptcy” is a re-organization not a going-out-of-business, but that doesn’t make it a whole lot easier to take. They were/are the film company, and their expertise was coatings. Cameras were secondary. Once film became unnecessary it was only a matter of time.
They’ve been trying for a while to re-position themselves in the digital age (and the Easy-Share system should have done it), but they were in the wrong part of the photography business to make that easy. If they had kept up with camera bodies, instead of letting Canon, Nikon, Olympus and all those other companies take over and provide consumers they might have had a chance.
I’m not saying they necessarily deserve it, but if you get a choice between Kodak and some other product, do try to give the big yellow box a chance.

ParticipantI started to prepare for this last night and was very surprised to discover I’ve shot a whole bunch for this contest and will have B-Sides (for once).
When this was suggested and hoppered I was worried because I’m not overly aggressive when shooting strangers. I’ve taken a few risks and am now trying to sort out my best. I’m actually kinda proud of myself for this, even if I do as badly next week as I’m doing this week.
