I’m out. Can’t even watch the games here in the UK, plus too busy 😉
August 2, 2012 at 6:26 pm #47791FarktographerParticipantThrew a few more in for fun. Missed the first wave of voting, though. Quick and dirty archive dive – my flickr account apparently expired while I was gone, too 😮
August 2, 2012 at 6:11 pm #48070FarktographerParticipantWhoa. Seriously nice photos. I wish I could get some clear skies here.
August 2, 2012 at 6:06 pm #47823FarktographerParticipantEleven. My new excuse for not being able to tell the difference in paint colours.
August 2, 2012 at 5:55 pm #47789FarktographerParticipantWhoops, missed my own theme. Haven’t gotten to touch my camera in a while – just finished my first year viva though, so hopefully I can get back into photography soon.
Anyways, went to fark and my finger was hurting by the time I finished voting – so many great shots!
May 3, 2012 at 5:31 pm #46193FarktographerParticipantWell I just realized its Thursday not Wednesday. Damnit. There is a lot of good stuff from the rest of you yet again Well I will be here for next weeks as long as my memory stays working.
I honestly thought today was Tuesday until I had a meeting in lab. Damn, this project is screwing with my head too much. Missed my own contest, haha. Did just go through and voted though – awesome shots, everyone!
May 2, 2012 at 9:24 am #46341FarktographerParticipantLiving in the UK, I vote that it’s fine for “things you’d expect to find in florida” and “people of wal-mart/waffle house outside of the wal-mart/waffle house.” Picking something outlandishly stupid always works for a florida photo, and the people you’d expect to see in a wal-mart aren’t just confined to the States 😉
April 30, 2012 at 10:45 pm #46830FarktographerParticipantWe won? Who bought Drew enough beer to change his mind?
April 30, 2012 at 7:40 am #46328FarktographerParticipantOkay the way I see it, is we have choices to be made. Limiting to at least 2 votes, we get:
5 votes:
Something recursive (add one add’l vote b/c comment in itself was a vote?)
Old things among new things
4 votes:
Shoes
Something obsolete
3 votes:
Fun places to scratch
Sensor bars
People of Late Night Waffle House
Fish out of water
2 votes:
Things you’d expect to find in Florida
Deity
Light
Leafy things
Ice
Feet
Shadows
Hot dog in a hallway
Miniature worlds
Naked body silhouette
Not cats
Paranoia
My long lost shaker of salt
Mr. WizardAnd in the funny category,
3 votes:
People of Walmart, not in WalmartAdd one to:
Florida
Scratch
Hot dog
Paranoia
Mr. WizardThat gives us 23 items to chose from, and just how are we going to go about picking which we do? Creativialtivitally, I can think of fun shots with most of them. I’m a fan of “Things you’d expect to find in Florida” and “Fun Places to Scratch” especially, but “Walmart, not in Walmart” hits me for the win.
The old thing with new things is potentially redundant with the hoppered theme but that really shouldn’t be much of an issue since it’ll be spread out pretty far. Other than that, I’d suggest the naked silhouette be struck down because I don’t see that it’d be presentable without really being NSFW. No way to tell if someone’s naked unless you’ve got some detailed shadows there.
April 30, 2012 at 7:36 am #46163FarktographerParticipantI suppose you could argue that a leaf is made of the same material as wood, so in a way I suppose so, though I don’t think the voters would be on the same boat.
April 29, 2012 at 3:10 pm #46143FarktographerParticipantThanks! I didn’t want to jinx myself earlier by saying, “fark yeah, my first win!” but it seems safe enough now 😛 Interesting though, since I figured that one wasn’t my strongest entry. These voters are strange creatures.
April 27, 2012 at 9:28 pm #46805FarktographerParticipant“Oh, don’t mind me, just some freaking auroras in my backyard.”
Jealous/impressed.
Nice shots!
April 25, 2012 at 9:00 am #46106FarktographerParticipantThere’s a theme this week? Crap.
You and me both, buddy. I haven’t touched my camera in about a month, and I’m starting to go through withdrawls 🙁
April 22, 2012 at 7:34 pm #46698FarktographerParticipantAwesome photo plus experience text
Still got an amazing shot, chup. I ran into a problem similar to yours before – that’s why now I always have a spare battery and a couple spare memory cards with me. You live and learn 🙄
I like shooting mine at ISO 200, but then again I’m capturing swirls most of the time – I’d have to calculate how long I could leave my wide-angle open without getting startrails and then calculate what ISO I’d need to get proper exposure. Damn, you guys are making me want to go on a camping trip…
April 22, 2012 at 6:03 am #46088FarktographerParticipantAnother question. Can something be naturally off-kilter? We have a couple of trees that grow straight up for a couple of feet and then for whatever reason go horizontal to the ground for at least 10 feet and then up again. Would they qualify?
My gut tells me yes, but it’ll be up to SilverStag.
