Thanks Kestrana, don’t want to get too off topic but I’m rather new to photography. The name is a only on fark because I forgot the password to my old one. I think my B&W lack contrast, but I will keep trying. I like the idea of a weekly challenge to try new things.

Please feel free to ask questions/comments, start threads, etc! We are here to help and commiserate. And we’ve all been where you are, just starting out as photographers. My first Farktography contest was embarrassing to say the least.

I feel kinda gypped – I had an earthquake, a hurricane and a severe tropical storm in the last 2 weeks and I didn’t lose power once, either at home or at work.

Yeah and the air quality/clarity in Nevada is about as good as you can get in the U.S. Someday I will go back to where I used to live there and retake all the pictures I took with my p&s.

idk, Dolphins looked pretty good in the pre-season. Henne’s playing as well as he did pre-injury. I got a fair number of people I wanted including all my defenders and defense but I got some wild cards including a rookie RB so we’ll see! That’s the fun of fantasy though, just seeing what happens.

Well there’s no byes until like week 5 or 6 so you’re in the clear for the first couple weeks barring injury. Last year the weekly upkeep took all of about 10 minutes most weeks. Through sheer determination and a lot of (really) dumb luck orionid won last year with about the same amount of effort.

It’s be fun but I think Drew has always tried to stay away from actually becoming a news source. Still, it doesn’t hurt if someone wants to ask him about it.

Yeah that was a gorgeous photo but too many people. There’s “spirit of the theme but slightly outside the rules” and then there’s “didn’t read directions” – which I know you know quite well.

Thanks, Els! I was actually disappointed in that ’cause I wanted to make sure it worked properly under real circumstances. 😉

I did notice in scanning the data that there were a lot of entrants this week that didn’t read the part about “no people in the shots”…

Yeah I dont know how many have been moderated but there was only one of those where it really bothered me, the Brooklyn Bridge one. There was one of a big veranda staircase that had one little person walking away in the bottom that I thought fit the spirit of the theme since the focus was on the staircase and they were almost out of the picture.
