Anybody interested in the other pics I almost submitted?

i suspect the difficulty is : pick only 3!

It was almost painful deciding which ones to use. 😕 I’m still not sure I picked the ‘best’ ones.

    /Too late now.

tough contest this week. In the end, I don’t really have much for it.

Same here. Not so much fun. Worked Sat, Sun, Mon.

May have to use the Bean.

What about light reflecting on something and making a projection, or is that something else?
This is what I am thinking of using, but I don’t quite know if that qualifies as a reflection…

Description: Subject can only appear in the reflection, whether it be in glass, water, mirrors or the cat’s eyeballs. Difficulty: No people.

I don’t know. I really like the photo. Per the description, the sun would be the ‘subject’. I guess, in a way, it is. It would be a pretty boring photo without those distorted bow-ties.

/leaves it up to XenPix and Mods.

Not sure where to ask, but as it relates to one of my entires for this week: It’s okay to Photoshop license plates into blurrification, right?

It doesn’t confer any particular advantage like other retouching can. You might put something with your entry post that states you spot blurred the license for privacy, just so everything’s clear as to what you’ve done.

What she said. I think that it would be a good idea to just state that the plate has been blurrified. That way, people would understand the reasonable flexing of the rules.

Hey schnee, does keeping the FSM alive and well take up much of your time? How about you, Elsinore? Is it still fun or is it sometimes more like work? I, and many others, really appreciate what you do. With life going 100 mph, I know that time is precious. Is there any way I could donate a few $ to the site?

If this is out of line or a bit over the top, just consider the offer a compliment.

When I first saw my “Mama” pic on the computer I was, like, “Yeah. That’s creepy.” 🙂 I tried several others the next night (between bathtime and bedtime) because I didn’t like my arm crossing the blackness but they just didn’t turn out as well. My shot seems a bit “set up” though. Probably because it was. But for dark and creepy and a nice photo, I like ultraholland’s better. Very Blair Witch.

This contest brought out a different creative side for alot of the participants. The technical challange had a twist too. Lots of good stuff.

/Oh nos! We broke the FSM! 🙁

I’ve got a few lined up, yes.

Are they spooky? Or just your run-of-mill stunning, gorgeous, breath-taking Alaskan midnight landscapes? 🙂

/wishes he could do night pics like you do.

Who the hell suggested this theme? I am finding it to be harder than I expected to get what I want to came out of my camera. I ‘see’ the pic in me head, but it doesn’t turn out that way. It’s hard to get it dark and spooky yet have enought detail to still be a pleasing photo. Anybody else find this to be technically challanging?

Once again, Farktography is pushing me past comfortable and easy. Cool.

I have two so far that are good enough. We’ll see what happens between now and Wed.

Wow, I think I found a subject for at least one photograph in this contest:
this mill site, but at night. It even has a “no trespassing” sign right there as well. Good thing the moon is almost full right now. Now I just have to make that look cool….

(I went past that on my bike ride this morning)

Yeah. I like. That big structure at night could come out really well.

    No people = no people.

Can you crop them out and still retain the essence of the image?

I can crop out the recognizable people under the Chicago Bean. But there are some tiny folks watching the skating rink bhind me.

As I said before, if this doesn’t work just say the word and I won’t use it. No problem. In order to decrease controversy, maybe you should law down the law and stick to no people = no people.

btw – that photo was taken without a tripod. The camera was on top of a concrete post. 🙂

Just how strict is the “No people” difficulty going to be called. I have a reflection of a city skyline that is nice. However, there are some tiny people in it. The buildings are clearly the subject. Yet, there are those pesky pedestrians in there. If it is a strict no people = no people I’d be cool with that.

/Probably too late in the game to flex the rules, but I thought that I’d throw it out there.
