There are things to accept ’cause you’re not going to change them – and I think this is one of them. I don’t like the two-vote thing. While I enjoy the funny, out-of-the-box photos as much as the next guy, I think that placing equal weight for a ‘funny’ vote as a ‘best’ vote cheapens farktography. We already play to the Fark crowd and that gives our contests a fun, quirky flavor. I’m cool with that. But a silly photo getting two votes and beating a better quality serious photo doesn’t sit well with me.

For now, I suggest that we count the “Best” votes as “The Votes” in all usual themes. We could report the “Funny” votes as a separate category. If a theme is pre-decided to encourage funny photos we might choose to count the total ‘Best and Funny’ for a grand total “The Votes”.

Well, I’m almost as mature as an 8th grader.

/Today, I was dictating an abdominal CT and described a 4.3 x 4.4 cm aneurysm sac of the aorta….and in the back of my head I went, “you just said sac.”

I’ve taken 100’s of those shots. They might seem slow but when the DoF is 1 mm they move too much. 🙂 I took 300+ ladybug-on-paper last night. I even used a new setup with freshly curled paper.

Rav, I understand your point. To an extent, I agree with you. But that’s why I posted this –

Maaaan. I was sure I posted in response to this a week ago. Anyway, I think the description needs to change if this is OK. It only states “storefronts”. Is anything ‘stores’ OK?

So I have a couple. I have the inside of Macy’s in Chicago from Christmas time last year that I’d like to use if we decide it fits. If it is right out, well I’ll do something else.

Missed this part before, but Pope Larry already said interiors were ok, and we updated the language in the description, so it’s anything goes for stores at this point.

Plus, I didn’t really expect that to win! (freakin’ voters…)

And it was poor planning for the upcoming Holiday theme. I have nothing for that one yet.
