Interesting. I think that’s about the same time that I voted, but I swear it wasn’t me. I’m sure your data could probably identify involved parties, both gaining and losing, but I’d rather not know names at this point. Just another reason to go back to the old ways before we become farkbook.

CISS, I initially missed your message to which orionid refers. I don’t want to know either – but if the data over the several themes point to a single person upvoting at the general time that others are getting down voted perhaps a Private Message to that person would help. I don’t think you can absolutely prove anything. And I’m not asking you to be a cop, but a “here are the facts I have noticed” type message might help.

Also, is there any indicator for how I have voted that I can see. I mean, let’s say I really like a pic and vote for it and then I came back a couple days later and still really like it but can’t remember if I voted for it or not. If I click “Best”, I am actually inadvertently removing my vote.

Yeah, I was definitely hoping for a human-based contest, but I suppose I didn’t *exactly* specify that, so meh, we’ll let the voters choose. The one with the dog wasn’t what I was expecting either, but it’s blasting everyone out of the water in votes, so seems people like it.

I’m shocked to see it get so many votes. (I posted it because it was the only shot I had that fit the theme…and it was just cute enough that I didn’t think it would be embarrassing to post. 😕 )

Yugoboy’s Artist, U-man’s Dad & Daughter, and Kestrana’s Sunset Viewer are my favorites and far, far superior photos…

This is uncomfortable. Fortunately for me, I want to do this all of the time. It fascinates me. However, probably 95+% of the time I don’t get the courage to actually do it. And then I’m all, like, “Maaan. That dude was SO cool and you missed it.”

I don’t know why it is so scary because, in my experience, most people have been at least OK with it. Some are thrilled. Some say no and I tell them, “thanks anyway”. The carnies at the fair were all really cool. They didn’t seem to like the newspaper photogs. So as soon as they learned I was just some dude, they totally loosed up.

I usually say that I have to take photos of people I don’t know for a “project”.

And I love them. Not only do I get to be creative and make stuff, there are also unforeseen problems in getting the right shot to work through.

I freaking HATE it when I can’t find a whole series of photos. I have some stranger portraits I took at a music festival (a LOT like a Dead show) last summer. Can’t find the damn things.
