sorry about that “his” stuff. i’d actually typed his/her but thought motorsports and deleted the her. oops.

from that it looks like a software issue. like the camera didn’t process the info properly. and if that’s the only place it happened i rather doubt that 99% if folks looking at it would see it. even at 100% or better. there’s just so much else going on in the picture.

but I don’t want to put up things that look a bit poo. these contests aren’t “post your flawless photo” of X, you know. heck if they were i wouldn’t enter. the purpose is to enjoy showing your work. make that sharing your work. and if you look at the voting over time the “winners”* are those that match the theme and/or are funny. technical merit usually ranks third.

*winners in quotes because a)everyone who enters wins in the sharing part b)there are no fabulous prizes.

It looks to me like he didn’t quite hit the panning speed right on, so the car is a touch blurry. Might just be because I’m not wearing my glasses.

that’s all i see but you wouldn’t get a new camera for it.

millera9 nailed it. it’s the bridgestones. or the image size as presented. i’ve got two dust spots that i know are there but you wouldn’t see them at this size or in a busy photo.

i’m guessing from XenPix‘s comment that his problem is similar.

having no interpretation of 101 (literal or otherwise) i’m going with what farktography means to me. have two i like. maybe three if the third still makes sense when the contest starts.

my top three favorites are pretty much guaranteed to not be my top three vote getters. i just can’t seem to get the hang of what the voters want. but regardless i enjoy posting when i have something that matches the theme. lately the muse has been on vacation.

the Farkamera arrived today. actually it arrived friday but since that was good friday and i had the day off i didn’t get it until today. the weather is forecast to be rain tomorrow but depending on what i finally decide to shot and how the weather co-operates the picture should be done by wednesday evening. if that happens then the package can be re mailed on thursday.

and a word of warning to the next person. opening the package with a trim knife can cut the log sheets if one isn’t careful. 😳

so who gets it next?

sorry it isn’t poland it’s the tennis matches you’re forgetting. there has been big debate and some heated debate in the PSAEF re tennis with voting and other n00b infractions this last week or so. automatic voting for photoshop wouldn’t work. trust me on this.

you’ve never met my dog. 10 lbs of pure energy. thank heaven for continuous mode.

actually i can get good shots of her occasionally but it’s never a poised one. the dog i had before her was 50/60 lbs like the ones you folks posted and stood still much better. seems like every time i get down to their level, either the cats or the dog, they want to get right up in my camera.

well i’m happy mine did as well as they did. one can’t really assign human “sins” to animals so the kitty eating was hungry and not really a glutton. but 14 people saw what i was aiming at so …went for the cat lover vote

anyway it was “art” and as we all know “art” is representational.

and back on topic while i would rather a representational image won that shot is both funny and well done. and it’s really about the fun after all.

got an infected bite. not sure just who bite her, probably a brother or sister while playing. one day she was fine, the next her foot started to swell. a trip to the vet, some shots, a little splint for a while and she was fine.

so it wasn’t really pride and falling but who knew?

re the mother with kittens and sloth vs. gluttony (or sloth and gluttony) the upside down one made me go with sloth.

was picking photos yesterday and trying to find one for each sin only to realize somewhat later that the magic number was three. which was fine because the lust one wasn’t great and wrath and envy weren’t even covered.

this one was fun. nice entries, well thought out and well executed.

and take the platform to the next level. if by that you mean you or schnee or anyone here with the skills is going to code a vote totaler thing .. great. i sure can’t. and since fark already totals i’m not sure why we would want to.

i do suggest we wait a bit longer unless that poises a hardship for veruca. as i mentioned earlier the fark voting page will let anyone know who the “winner” is in real time. i thought ours was more to be able to have the wining entries (the actual images) and their ranking in a convenient place for looking at later. looking for old fark threads isn’t something one wants to do. especially a few months back. ours however is right there on the our main page and the layout allows for three different results. or to view three different ways. it’s pretty neat.

but seriously folks, why does it matter when it’s “called”? the FSM will have the totals at some point and if we have to wait a day or two to post the winning photos ……… ok we wait. how many page hits does our winners page get? i’d bet my lunch money that most folks look at the fark “view votes” thing, not our page. our page is real nice and easy for checking at a later date because it’s easy to find. however those that entered can see their standing at fark in real time. and if you’re like me and finish 23rd fark can be easier to see who finished above and below you.
