i suggest we have someone (not me) monitor the voting by hitting F5 starting at 24 hours after live and continuing for the next 24 hours if the spread is greater than 5 votes or 48 hours of the spread is less than 5 votes.

after that they need to buy a classified from Drew to post the results.

we can have the awarding of ribbons and cash prizes either friday or saturday night since no one winning has a life outside the internets anyway.

Eh, I barely have enough time to read regular Fark, much less Totalfark. The question is whether $5/mo is worth it to get more votes in a photography contest. =P

i seldom (seldomly?) — don’t very often read TotalFark but i do find that having it is useful. and if you get the 6 month or one year deal there’s a price break.

and by useful i don’t mean it helps particularly with votes. it’s just nice to be able to go to totalfark if you want to. and to prove my vote contention you have 2 votes for each of your entries right now. i have a 4 hour head start and no votes for mine. go figure 🙂

Sorry Curious. I saw those posts about, “I motion…” and , “Seconded…” so I sent the Farkamera to Colorado.

no problem dgough. millera9 is right, i should have hollered. it’s not like i’m in here at least twice a day.

besides which i’ll just take a cat picture 🙂

powerplantgirl i have a set of those huge chocolate lips left over from valentines day. no money though.

I motion that since nobody else is showing interest, it would be fine to send it on to powerplantgirl and then to chakalakasp. Smile

    /worst farktographer, evar

is there a prize for that? if so i want to compete.

and i’d bet you stapler that my overall vote getting is worse than yours. either per contest or per total entries.

that said i shot my entries for next week today. hope springs eternal.

but if not, this will be my first contest without 3 entries since I started participating weekly.

it gets easier. i had nothing last week nor this. used to plow the archives if a special shot hadn’t been taken but the net result was posting stuff just to post stuff. not really a good idea.

which is not to say your stuff isn’t good but this is supposed to be fun. relax. enjoy what you post.

hell i’m old enough to remember when JFK died.

    now get off my lawn.

i didn’t bother looking for the eclipse. it wasn’t supposed to be real good here and they said the best part would be blocked by the trees to my east.

well that’s not exactly how it was phrased. i like my trees but they do make looking at the horizon a bit difficult.

We have different perspectives, but I sort of like the way Austin is growing up.

fortunately we can both find places we like.

re the film thing it was “you Luddite” 🙂 slide shows can be real fun but overall i’ll take the trade offs to digital. of course that said i like both of these for different reasons. http://www.davesweblife.com/images/old-young.JPG

i still have all my film cameras (35mm, 2 1/14 and 4 x 5) and accessories but haven’t used them in some time now. i also carry 35mm point and shot cameras in my bags as backups. oh know, in case aliens land. have to have that original negative so i can’t be accused of using photoshop.

    Since I’m still on film

    pardon me but WTF?

as much as i love film and am both cheap and broke ……

they are great shots. now if you could get Austin to do that to about 89% of the town and surrounding areas i might move back. 🙂

well i certainly enjoyed looking at all the pretty pictures. my muse has been AWOL lately so i won’t be entering tonight’s contest.

not that any entry of mine would have been as good as the ones i’ve seen so far 🙂
