ParticipantI-want-a-bio-but-I’m-too-new-damn-it!
I’m up for some proof reading, if you’d like to throw me a copy to browse through.

ParticipantEgad – I just checked my photo on the monitor at work and I’m so disppointed. At home there was plenty of detail visible…even the leaves on the trees along the fence, etc. Here it just looks like a blob of black with a couple of dots of light and a splash of green. Is that the general effect for everyone else?
I’m able to see pretty decent detail; it goes black fast above and to the right of the Monster van.

ParticipantIt scares me a bit that I haven’t shot this yet, and all I have around me are chemistry books and the Game of Thrones (okay, technically A Song of Ice and Fire) series. Neither seems like it’d give much to work with 😮

ParticipantHenryhill’s second entry is really cool – how does one do that technique in-camera? Is it tilt-shifting of some sort?

ParticipantThe question was whether this group could take mundane parking lots and make them interesting.
The answer: yes. Yes, you could.
Pleasantly surprised and outgunned in this contest. Bravo, everyone!

ParticipantIt occurs to me that a “Difficulty: No Post-Processing besides resize and crop” may be in order.
I noticed while doing a photoshop for Misfit Squirrels that the Filter Forge free pack of filters includes a Holga setting. Obviously, I won’t be using that, but it might be important to warn others.
…except that would completely screw me because I have to take photos of my developed film on a white light table, then invert, brighten/contrast/etc. using photoshop since I don’t print the images out directly from the lab. The general rules are pretty clear regarding what sort of rules apply – software filters are already included, I believe.

Participantsoosh; I love ya, man, and it’s a great shot–but it’s rooftops at best, and that’s not the parking lot.
😳 edit: I called ‘im “swoosh!”. LOLZ My bad, but tah-funnay.
…when are we going to have a redux of ‘tah-funnay’?
Pretty much, yeah. Cool shot, though.

ParticipantAs a Nikon user, this is relevant to my interests. Good info there.

ParticipantI have disassembled things.
That statement rates a 0 on the surprise-o-meter.

ParticipantThis is my own theme idea and even I don’t have any great ideas. I suppose that was the point of the theme though – making something mundane into something interesting. Will be carrying around my camera with me all day in the hopes of finding something magical last-minute, heh.

ParticipantParking lots designed for land-based items with tires, i.e. cars, motorcycles, scooters, bikes, trucks, etc. No airplanes, no trains, no ships.

ParticipantSo if I sneak into my lab in the middle of the night to use the light projectors in the biology department to capture images of my film, and security catches me, I won’t be in *that* much trouble, right? Me with a macro setup won’t look *too* out of place, will it?

ParticipantI feel like the kid who always gets picked last for kickball…..
I feel like the one that’s stuck on the sidelines for fear of an asthma attack. I know I won’t be getting one of these awesome rigs in a long time 😳 🙁
