HansensDisease has an email address in his profile that you could try if he doesn’t notice your post in the contest. My guess is that most of the photoshoppers had no clue that no one over here had approved this already and they thought that we had approved this already like when this type of crossover contest before.

It might be too late now, but we could try throwing up a notice on the farktography contest saying to post something if you don’t want your images used for the photoshop contest.

i know i’ve been really really chatty in this thread and i apologize if this has gotten on anyone’s nerves. i’ve been having a rough few days and photography in general (and farktography in particular) has helped me from completely falling apart. nonetheless, i apologize.

Don’t worry, this is a place to come and have fun.

I think a little bit sharper focus would help, a narrower aperture might help with this. I have no clue what your lens is like but the autofocus on mine isn’t all that great so for a shot like that I would always use manual focus rather autofocus because I know my lens isn’t going to figure out where to focus on a small subject like that on its own. The other thing I would do would be in photoshop/gimp use the levels tools to lighten the background to increase the contrast in the photo.

Schnee, I have no clue when you do this but just as a heads up my three posts this week were for bucky bacon. The times were 2009-05-06 09:23:29 PM, 2009-05-06 09:24:20 PM, and 2009-05-06 09:25:11 PM.

Would the same shot but two different croppings be allowed as two entrys?

I don’t think think that would be allowed. Although if it was cropping down on two different objects in the photo that might be ok(or you could at least post them and not say anything in that situation because nobody would be able to tell that it was the same shot).

I would think if the subject appears to be the shadow of the chewed up leaf it would be ok. If you wanted to post it Im sure we could come up with a couple of differing opinions to confuse everything.

I’d think natural dams and locks should be fine.

I think I’m the only one on here who can’t bring himself to take a camera into a cemetery.

You should run out to Baltimore quickly where the cemetery that Edgar Allan Poe is buried in is basically a tourist destination.

Never seen this before, but with the way I just played with it all evening I have a feeling I’m going to become a regular user quite quickly.
