ParticipantKestrana I think I owe my current top photo to you, you pointed out the tilt shift site. My original 3rd entry was something else completely.

ParticipantIf you’re not sure what to do for this contest here’s a couple ideas that are pretty easy:

ParticipantYes. Several of us did shots like that last time, though usually at full opacity, not partial (but partial opacity shouldn’t be a problem).
You mean there is a way to do it at full opacity? It is one of those layer mask thingies?
Photoshopping is not my strong point.

ParticipantThat sounds like alpha channel masking. Is that allowed in this contest?
And just to make sure I understand the multiple exposures thing – it’s OK as long as it’s of the same subject/scene?
For the pic I posted, I stacked 4 photos, nothing was masked, I also reduced the opacity of the stacked pics.
I don’t see why you need to have pics of the same scene, you could in theory have a double exposure with any two pictures. I was after a certain effect with mine.

Participantlokisbong this is my most popular photo, by a long shot.

Every week or so someone else favorite’s it. I have links into it from Facebook. I had 50 views over two days in January alone. It’s not even that good of a shot of rail graffiti.

ParticipantPretty neat!
Thanks, I damn near froze my nuts off. I stood there for almost an hour in -5C. Thank god there was a Tim Horton’s across the street.
This will most likely be a b-side. The A-side it really good, IMHO.

ParticipantI went out this weekend to get pics to work on this theme. I don’t use photoshop or gimp very often so I figured I need to get a head start on this. I went to the rink at city hall and took about 100 pics using a tripod.
I tinkered around a bit with the pics and came up with this. I did it by reducing the opacity to 50%. There are 4 stacked images here.

ParticipantAs a relative newbie here, I’m all in favour of keeping the one use rule for a bunch of reasons. Mostly it keep sthe contest fresh and exciting, if we kept seeing the same photos pop up again and again, the contests would get dull, fast.
It also gives me an excuse to get out of the house, which my wife apreciates 😉

ParticipantThere are some amazing shots this week.
Rav I really like two of yours, the cloud puking rainbows and the monsoon clouds. I wish I lived where I could see clouds like that.

ParticipantCool.
I like the one of the Parliament Building in Ottawa, the original one, before it burnt to the ground.

ParticipantI beat my highest vote total, but failed to crack the top 10. Considering the competition, I’m thrilled with my 18th place.
Olavf, I thought your flaming entry was amazing.
