ParticipantI LOLed about listing Gregor Clegane as a properly big mountain.

ParticipantNice! =D
I love taking pictures of dead trees. I do it a lot. Even ones I’ve already photographed lol.

ParticipantI also wanted to say to Just Kat, I have a few pictures of the EXACT SAME TREE from the EXACT SAME SPOT near Manzinar! Now I’ve got to go find it!
EDIT: I also just noticed that your last entry is Mt. Tom from the 395. Cool beans.
=D I cropped the tree to make the pic focus more on the mountains, but between us (nobody else listen!! 😛 ) I took the pic because of the tree. 😉
As for the last one: now I know more than I did before! I knew what freeway I was on, but not the name of the place. 🙂

ParticipantI probably shouldn’t even mention this since it took me so long to verify it…. but andyofne’s 2011-05-26 12:12:18 AM post is a Scarlet R from the first go ’round of this contest.
And, of course, voting is closing in what, 4 minutes? 😛
I wouldn’t even have noticed, but I made a lolcat out of it back in the day. 😉

ParticipantI gave tweaks to two of my three, and only didn’t do the third because I recently re-tweaked it for submission to the County Fair. 😛

ParticipantJust to be clear–you’re completely eligible to enter with any photos you’ve *taken* in the past year even if they weren’t *entered* in the past year. Glad to have you on board 🙂
Oh. Cool! I’ll see what I’ve got.
This. And welcome!

ParticipantI got skillz.
Not. Helpful. 😯

ParticipantU-Man – what’s up with the light in that Tahoe shot? Trippy. Looks all HDR-y, but I know you wouldn’t do that…. 😉

ParticipantI’m glad I asked… But now I’ll have to remember that I DIDN’T do the dust removal if I want to use it in the future… 😉

ParticipantI’d like a ruling on a pic. My thought behind using it is that the motorcyclist appears to be driving on the cloud… but maybe it’s not “cloudy” enough? I’d like to know before I deal with the unholy amount of dust on the shot…. 😉

Participantbucky_bacon – OMG that last pic is squeeeeee!
And hi, nice to see you! 😉

ParticipantU-Man – I agree in a general sense. If I were considering a picture for sale, I might consider that okay. This is farktography, though, and has its unique issues. It may be a little nitpicky — maybe — but every contest needs to have rules (farktography in general, not any particular contest) and I don’t see a pressing need to change this one.

ParticipantFWIW I agree with Olav’s statement (and not just because I have to live with him! lol). I think pushing the button — whether it be a remote release or a timer — is the only true way of saying the picture is YOURS. When Olav does his self portraits if I’m present at all, I step back from the camera altogether once that timer is set. I don’t touch the camera or even look through the view-finder.
I don’t think there is anyone here that can’t handle that small but very basic difficulty. Yes, certain very very old cameras don’t have timers — and maybe we should consider those on a case-by-case basis… and maybe not — but I think 99.9% of farktographers have cameras that are equipped with that feature and can jolly well use one of those cameras for these contests.
I can’t believe I just used “jolly well”… at all. 😛

ParticipantU-Man, you have almost exactly 10,000 more votes evar than me going into this week. 😉
Ten.Thousand. Ten. Thousand. 😯
