ParticipantRather than honing technical skills (though this will include some of that) I envision this a lesson in creating a vision for cohesive project, shooting thematically for a gallery show. Not that it is intended to for a gallery show, but it COULD be. I want to follow a plan rather than shooting randomly. And models, I definitely want models! 😛
You’re in NYC. There’s got to be at least 52 different (similar) locations. Definitely more than 52 intersections, parks, accessible roofs, subway stations or something. You just plan your 52 locations and then go there at least once a week. Shoot. Schedule with a/several/many models to meet you (or not) and voila! a project. Also useful if you take a vacation elsewhere. You can visit your similar space in another city and shoot there.
Hell… shoot street vendors. They’re usually amenable, especially if you buy something, and/or promise to include their info in your display (free advertising for them, free models for you)

ParticipantGot ’em.
Going text-less and I’m fully expecting to get trounced, but I got pix.*phew*

ParticipantWhoops, you’re right–sorry about that. I was thinking about the Parking lots theme when I typed that, because I’m thinking of throwing that into the Hopper next-ish.
Given that I know the shots I want to use for Parking Lots… the sooner the better 😉

ParticipantI’m in 100% procrastination mode. We haven’t put up a tree or any other decor, I don’t have any holiday photos from previous years… given my wife’s jobs, and my own inclinations, this holiday hasn’t meant much for me in a while. If I’m feeling perky, I may stop for those Christmas lights downtown I missed last week due to the bug.
I may just skip this one and go trolling for “B”s all week.
Bah Humbug!

ParticipantCool… I’m signed up…
When that commercial I mentioned above came on last year, I thought it was a bit extreme. I felt much more sympathetic this year after playing my first season… and with the results I had… it wasn’t JUST injuries (although losing Peyton Manning before week 1 hurt a LOT). but some guys I picked just never stepped up the way the magazines said they would…
N. Suh may be a great player (when he’s not suspended for idiocy) but he didn’t do things which garnered many points.
BY THE WAY… be sure to check out the scoring before choosing players for the playoffs. Unlike our league, return yards don’t count for much, if anything, and players can’t collect points for both individual work AND special teams (so Devin Hester would have been a good pick for our league, but isn’t so great for this one… and a couple of my WRs I picked up for their consistent return yardage…) ANYWAY… scoring’s different and WILL impact your choices.

ParticipantI wish I had known. When I saw the ads (to the tune of “So you had a bad day” and the various teams and their records) I signed up. I’ll still participate in “our” league as well. Maybe I’ll use different rosters to improve my chances.
Does doing it as a league confer any benefits? The biggest reason for doing the play-off one solo is the chance for Super Bowl Tix (not like I’ve got much chance, but you can’t win it if you’re not in it.)

ParticipantBut no, I don’t need any sub-18 year olds oogling my rack.
But… (and this is the last I’ll say about it) what a nice rack it is! 😆

ParticipantLOL with an entire internet full of porn at your fingertips??
Porn is obviously verboten. The fact that 8th and 9th graders can/might/will see my desktop keeps me tamer than I wish to be. Your contribution would have been safe but unwise.

ParticipantIts just nice, though, how her bewbs end up right over my head. No way I can compete with that. Though who wouldn’t go to sleep mesmerized by a pair of those?
I….no…you know what, I am just going to sit here quietly and keep myself out of trouble. 8)
lol 😆 I could have gone all out with the belly dance garb, but I just didn’t want to deal with all that, though the newest costume is awfully pretty.
I was one bad decision away from making you my new desktop… 😆

ParticipantI got CLOBBERED by a microbe in the last 24 hours. Earlier today I felt barely well enough to drag myself into the back yard. If lucky, I’ve got a couple pedestrian shots to contribute… and I REALLY wanted to do some nice night shooting (or pre-dawn morning shooting as it were)…
I get a flu shot every year to avoid this crap.

ParticipantThank God college ended last week. I actually have a few minutes for this.
I, too, am still trying to determine where to be and what to shoot. Although, if I can get up early enough on Wed, my commute has Christmas lights up already.

ParticipantYou wanna know how I know I am not procrastinator? Because it is driving me NUTS not have this theme all shot, selected and ready to go! I don’t know what I want to shoot, what I can shoot, all I know is that there is something that needs to be done and I can’t do it!
THIS!
A thousand times THIS!!!(Although, I’m not usually THIS far ahead, I usually have an idea what I’m using, and I’m almost always done before Monday Night Football is over)
