Participantravnostic, still can’t figure out for sure what the secondary image is. I’d guess either the rooftop of another building, or more likely an empty fountain ( those round pipes would be where the water comes out? ).
CauseISaidSo, yes the b-side one, it’s gorgeous.
Choc-ful-a, thanks much for the feedback! I wanted to use Rusty Sail, but swapped it out for the B+W Buster profile–it’ll probably turn up in a future contest. The other two I entered were my “absolutley must go in” for this theme, so of course the dog is doing better 🙄

Participantrav, what’s the story with the double-exposure bee? Looks otherworldly.
Choc-ful-a, the houseguest is far-out, man 8)
Cause, the snowy mountain is spectacular! I too had a hard time deciding this week, b-sides here: http://www.flickr.com/photos/42385982@N06/sets/72157626007121333/
I’m hoping to do better than our last arty theme, Artistic Bent, where my “best” was 130th place 😳

Participant🙂 That model sure has a stretchy face!

ParticipantExcellent, congratulations!

ParticipantI figured since this was an International competition that I’d have NO chance, so I didn’t even title them when I submitted.
I’m not at all surprised you did so well. You are really incredibly talented, don’t let anyone else tell you different! Congrats on this, I’m so happy for you!

ParticipantWish I could go with, sounds like a neat day of fun. Sorry to hear about your aunt, hope the treatmemt goes well.

ParticipantOoooh, neat idea.
Ya, what he said, very creative solution!
I like that first pic of Blerticus. The soft focus works well there.Zero_Exponent
ParticipantThe b’s:
The wallflowers are tres cool. I’d save that last one for reflections IIWY.

ParticipantThanks for the input and well wishes all–woke up from my nap just in time to post.
U-man, if you’re still stuck, #2 would be my vote.Zero_Exponent
ParticipantI could really use some hep here, I’ve got some possible entries, but can’t narrow it down. Do any of these jump out at you? They’re all in a row on my Flickr photostream FYI, so if you goto the first link, you can keep clicking “<- newer" til you hit the end.

ParticipantWe’ve always been open to worldy influence with patriotic/flag stuff. I say this theme should do the same and include letters from all languages.
Does anybody see a problem with that?

http://ca.io9.com/5218119/13-alien-languages-you-can-actually-readAre these allowed, or am I too far outside the box here? The pictographs might be a bit much – I don’t think owls, cats, etc. is what you were going for.

ParticipantLet me add my late congrats as well, mopsy!
I knew I was in for an ass-kicking on this one. Long exposure and non-solar light are two of my greatest weaknesses. I learned a lot from seeing everyone else’s though.Zero_Exponent
ParticipantA couple scarlet aarrgghhs have crept in, I see. Great theme–lots of good pictures I’ve enjoyed. I echo the peppercorn kudos.
Thank you too. I think I hooped myself on the voting for that one though. I noticed some dust/dirt on the image, so I cleaned it up with Picnik. When I went to save the edited version, it crossed my mind that it may change the URL. I checked Fark after, but it still had the unedited version showing. It’s gone now – so yeah, my bad, sorry about that 😳

ParticipantCan you explain what’s happening in the second one please? Strobelight and motion or … ?

ParticipantA six-pack of bees: http://www.flickr.com/photos/42385982@N06/sets/72157626007121333/
I really like the second one, called “pepper pile”, as a photo. But I doesn’t fit the black theme as well as the ones you posted, so good call… I’d definitely keep it in mind for another contest though.
Thank you very much – I like how all those peppercorn shots turned out, so for sure I will look for an opportunity to use them 🙂
