CISS, it is fine either way. I haven’t enter too many contests and haven’t had too much of a showing anyway. I understand what it’s like to be busy, I barely had time to archive dig for this week.

As far as Windows O/S’s go, 98, XP, and 7 were/are the best. After seeing Vista on my wife’s machine, I was really loath to move from XP to 7, but 7 is now probably my favorite ever.

Agreed with 7 being pretty good, but I really liked Win 2000 before that. While people were fighting with Me and early XP, I had no problems with 2000. I tried them all back then since they came with my MSDN subscription but I haven’t kept up with that stuff recently. I tried Chrome when it was a beta, but it was incredibly slow and had no gesture plug-ins so I went back to Firefox and have stayed there. Maybe it’s time to try it again.

I shot all of mine specifically for this contest, and like ennuipoet wrote it really got me to open up my ideas, not just trying to keep the horizon straight.
I took this one about 20 minutes ago, so it can be a b: http://www.bender16v.com/chris/b1.jpg

And ravnostic, I really, really like the chevrons, I’m a sucker for patterns.

I finally got home from 27 days on the road and was able to look at the photos on the bigger screen in my office, there really are a lot of good ones. I always look forward to sleeping‘s, but I especially like the Clock Tower this week.

I’m glad you only get three entries U-Man, there are a lot of great ones though.
A couple Bees, wasn’t sure if there was enough sun to use them:

Dang it, just realized I screwed up the sizes on a couple of mine, oh well.

What you have there is Lens Flare!

Thanks, I don’t know how I didn’t recognize the classic effect of lens flare. I can see where it would detract from most photos, but this being for fark I might have to use that one.

Lens flare must be better that Gaussian Blur, it has its own app.

What is the general opinion of “remnants” or colored spots coming from the sun in a photo? I chose my photos a couple weeks ago, but one of them has several spots coming from the sun. Also, what causes these? Here is an example: http://www.bender16v.com/chris/Spots.jpg

I’ve still been out trying to take more photos for this one, trying to get something better, but it has been cloudy around here every day.

O.K., thanks for the exception. I’m not usually so prompt and don’t plan to be in the future.

Hmm, I walked into my hotel room, switched on the computer, and saw the contest so I posted. It’s the only time I’ve ever had the first post, probably bad luck. I really like this theme, and will keep it in mind in case it comes back since I like boats and spend a lot of time on the water.

Here are some B’s from last weekend:

Now I am really jealous, those are some really great muskies! I haven’t been fishing yet this year and it will be at least another month until I can go due to work. That is wonderful that your daughter is getting into it too. I’m sitting this one out because I don’t cook and am traveling anyway.

Dwayne’s looks like they can do it all, even Kodak Disc film! I’ll get some things sent off to them, thanks!

I just started trying to use film and that is from the second roll I think. I need to rant about film developing, but I’ll start a new thread for that.

I travel a lot for work and haven’t really had any problems with the TSA. I pack my rocket blower into my checked luggage since my camera bag is full, but I do carry on my camera bag and haven’t had any trouble. Even though I haven’t had problems, I do believe that the TSA is a failure. Last year I lost my Leatherman for about 3 months. It was finally found by the TSA buried in a pocket of my laptop bag. Of course they took it away, but I had flown about 6-8 time before that with it in my bag. I’m not angry they took away my knife, but what a failure that they didn’t find it before. In the meantime they make you remove your shoes, belt, and have a conniption fit if somebody has a tiny bottle of contact lens solution in their purse without a (bombproof?) ziplock bag. They are completely irrational and incapable of making any type of decision. I like to be safe when I fly, but they are too reactionary and ineffective.

But when I get a collection of larger cards (and that’s going to happen), I’ll go back for the same reasons others do, apparently.

This discussion got me thinking since I’ve only been saving JPEGs but my body has two cards. I went out and bought two new PNY Pro 32Gb cards and set the camera to write RAW to the first and JPEGs to the second. Now after about every 10 shots I get card failures. Oh well, the best laid plans… I guess my point is to be careful when buying cards to make sure they work.
