I am far more concerned about my co-workers walking in and finding the camera/tripod and me in my underwear. How in the fark would I explain that?

Now I just need to go knock off the neighborhood convenience store so I can pick up a lighbox and a couple reflectors.

With your penchant for DIY, you don’t need to resort to crime, just dig around in the Big Pile O’Parts, you probably have a lightbox in there waiting to be built.

One of the shots I will take, and probably use is a picture of a Nativity Scene. I know farkers are either very PRO or very ANTI religion. Would ANYONE have a big problem with me using that…considering it IS what the season is about?
    /Not overly religous.

I’m a stone atheist, but I will defend to my last breath you posting a Nativity scene in a Christmas theme thread. Fark ’em if they can’t take it.

If it is one exposure split to comply with Fark’s size limits, I see it as well with the letter and spirit of the rules.

    OMMV

    Looks nice!
What are the telephoto and wide-angle lenses? The 45mm is the standard Petri prime, right?
The selenium cell is part of the lens, isn’t it?
    Damn, now I want a rangefinder…

Yup 45mm is the standard, the kit included the wide angle and telephoto over the lens adapters. The exact dimensions aren’t on the lenses, I have to look them up. They screw in over the 45mm and the selenium LM. I am pretty sure their image quality will be low.

And here I am, two days before and finally get my inspiration. Now lets see if I can pull this off without looking like a creeper.

So…. Since I live in a bubble-wrapped “OMG THE CHILLUNS! PLEASE THINK OF THE SNOWFLAKES!” state with no see-saws or merry-go-rounds…..

Where does one draw the line between blur and soft focus?

I went out searching for a merry go round for Kid at Heart determined to take some motion blur shots spinning around the playground…merry go rounds are gone. Of course, I left in a Left Lib Paradise so they may still be out there somewhere

    😀

What Orionid said! Lomography the art and craft is all cool. Lomography the Sales Pitch is profound fraud. Paying top dollar for sub par equipment easily found for pennies on ebay is the sort of thing Hipsters do with their father’s credit card.

I just wanted to say this looks like a wildly erratic ECG. That is all. 😀

IIRC, it was U-Man or NBD that said Holga’s are so bad, they’re good. Each one seems to have it’s own little quirks, but if you cruise flickr, you’ll see that holgas seem to have all manner of light leaks, flare, falloff, and other “unwanted” effects. Mine (before I chopped it up) was mostly prone to falloff/vignetting.

I was out shooting with my Yashica over the Summer when some girl asked me about it. I told her what it was and she says: “Oh, it’s like a Holga!” I looked at her for a moment and said “No, it’s nothing like a Holga, this…is a good camera”. I don’t think she really understood.

What’s up with the voters this week? We’re a full 360 votes down from the last-6-weeks’ votes average for this point in time.

Part time of year, part Photo-centric theme, I suspect. I know when I start talking photography talk around the Cellphoners (my personal term for those whose idea of photography is cellphone snaphots) their eyes start to glaze over, some begin to drool helplessly while others squirm desperately to get away from me before I start using terms like “depth of field” or god forbid “chromatic abberation”.

I just have ONE question for everyone who posted a macro/close shot of their cats (Rav!) howinhell did you convince the cat to stay still long enough to compose and shoot? My cats SEE a camera and they become furry blurs.

Okay. That’s a damn good story. I especially liked the Vader “Try it in German” bit. LOL’ed at that.

Sie sind Teil der Rebellen Allianz und ein Verr?ter!

/yeah, OK, that is Babel’d, my D- High School German isn’t up to snuff

You’re the rebel alliance’s penis, and a traitor ? 😛 Which Star Wars was that, nad where do i get a copy…?

I’ll have you know that line, like Han not shooting first, was changed in re-releases. You just don’t remember it because it was a long time ago. 😛

Like the Petri. Does the selenium light meter still work?

The listing says the LM works, we shall see. Truth is, I bought it on bet that it would work, if it doesn’t I’m not out any real money.

Curious, it is some much worse than that, I’ve got more really good camera stores than you can shake a stick at! Unless I actually need something, I don’t go. It is too much like a strip club, go in, get all excited, leave with nothing.
