I wasn’t necessarily going for motion blur. Husband was impressed because of the subtlety of the bubble. That’s why he liked it. I doubt I’ll be printing this one for the scrapbook. Thanks for the feedback, more or less confirms what I was thinking after reviewing the photo some more.

Wait, so the dinosaur art/structures I found won’t work because they’re in the middle of nowhere? Harumph. *sticks out tongue at Curious and goes to sulk*

It has been my experience (and others could prove me wrong) that reposting a picture that I already used in a contest to get more votes in this one, doesn’t work all that well. I just went with ones I liked that I probably wouldn’t use in a contest and that I could probably take again. It’s kind of like one of the random contests in that respect. Of course, I have yet to win any contest, and I’ve only hit the top 10 thrice, so take my viewpoint for what that’s worth.

OMG, U-Man! I hadn’t even noticed that! That made me laugh. Awesome for pointing that out. Made my night. 🙂

I do have a couple of possibilities, but husband was like not scape-y enough or something, so I wasn’t going to enter them. However, I might anyway more or less simply to continue to play. They are of clouds, just not landscape-like. Well, one is, but it’s kind of meh. Blah.

Re my username: It wasn’t something I came up with. A friend (who now happens to be my brother-in-law) was the one to give it to me. Apparently at one time I used to dance like I was on clouds or something. I used to dance a lot.

I don’t have crap for this contest. I might abstain. I have a couple of cloud shots, but nothing scape-y. I do, however, look forward to seeing what other people have put up. Of course, it’d be completely overcast today and likely tomorrow (supposedly we’re getting rain), so there’s really no chance of getting something last minute.

I just want to say that I’m really happy with how I placed. My second top ten evar (9th) and my most voted on picture. Woohoo! Congrats to SilverStag on a stunning win with a 1/2 combo, for sure.

What if we offered something along the lines of a wall hanging-size printing of either the top shot from contests or something from the top 10 (or something) if we’re interested in selling the work, but only from the Fark store? That way, for a limited time, the prints can be offered from Fark, so no worries about the Fark name being used elsewhere, and also since the contests are weekly, presumably the selection changes weekly or something. This is, of course, if anyone is interested in doing that? Feel free to take that base of an idea and run with it. Hell, maybe someone can figure out a desktop screen saver or something with these pics and sell it for a buck or whatever. I don’t know. Just talking out of my ass.

Question: Things like paper mills around here make clouds. There’s this nifty plant nearby that looks awesome (I think) at night with the lights from the plant illuminating the cloud its making. Do those kinds of clouds count? They’re unintentionally man made, so I feel it proper to ask. It’s not smoke coming out, it’s steam.

For one, I plan on frankly ripping off an idea I’ve seen elsewhere, and its not the kiddo hands, baby hands, or old hands with newborn thing. And for that one I might commandeer my husband’s hand(s) for it so I can concentrate more on getting the shot I want.

A second entry, I’m relatively certain I’m going to put in a pic of Chance gripping his brother’s hand, but that might be the extent to which I use my kids this contest.

I’ve already used my dirty hands pic, so that’s out…..

I think a note about an optional allowable 4th entry (for this contest only) to complete the set would be fine. A requirement, though? No.

Does water falling over a dam count as waterfall? I got nothing so far. Hopefully I’ll be able to get to some place. Don’t want to use another Katahdin shot, it’s kind of boring.

Silhouettes? Might try to get me some (never done them)

Speaking of, since there’s been all this talk about the Hopper recently and themes and scheduling, any chance some more themes are going to be scheduled out? Yeah, I know, pushy pushy… Just like to know what’s coming up.
